Dead-heading Pansies of Self

I Culled Myself and Woke Up and Called Out

Death is the Mother of memory, the organic fertilizer that nourishes dreams, ideas, intuitions, imagination.

What message do I have for myself from this experience?

Feel it. Hear it inside. GIve its resonance space to expand until it settles. Now, say it.

Keep it.

Pansies Are…

Dead-head your pansies in your garden, or pots, or urns, or wherever you have them. It’s a verdant gesture to keep them thriving and vibrant. There’s so much cool color when you do. So much cool color ALL the time. Dead-head the flowers as they start to wilt and drop them to the base of the plant. Death will then be the Master Gardener to nourish. Death, the mother of memory, will fertilize future flowers’ dreams. Dead-head, and that energy can go into the soil, and the energy that was going to that flower will strengthen the remaining full flowers and new growth.

patience, respect, renewal, resurrection, feeling unseen seeds cracking underground

Pansies Are Delicate, Though…

Pansies are delicate, though they are hardy. Pansies in the garden are no weaklings. Pansies are SO not pansies. Trauma works like pansies to a degree…

Perspective

So many times after an intense experiences passes, I feel there is a tendency to say, Phhuuuuueeewww. Glad that’s over. Run away! Like Monty Python. Run away! Run away!

Is it. Is it over? Is the experience really over? Or, is The End really Just The Next Beginning? Or, is the over simply that we escaped with our life? Or, escaped to be emancipated with more life, more of ourself revealed, now more evidently present?

Maybe, instead of Glad that’s over, somewhere along the line I’ve learned to dwell IN the experience while it was still fresh just afterwards, and then not have to dwell on it as some nebulous unresolved why-dafuq-do-I-get-triggered-that-way by who knows what that reminds me subtly enough that I don’t groc it until too late, for years to come.

Feel into trauma and experience wise in time or just after. Own it. Listen to its message. Allow it to integrate itSelf on its own terms. Continue WITH it as a new asset. Feel your empathy tuned up a notch in so doing. Respect and resonate in powerful witness with the trauma messenger inside. Be grateful to the person who triggered you BEFORE you act out driven by the trauma and not the totality of what you were the moment before. Express, Thank you for digging just there. I need to breathe and feel into that. ANd, if they are a solid friend comfortable in their own skin, they’ll understand, maybe even silently stay with you for the short vigil while you acclimate to the trauma re-surfacing, powerfully and respectfully and grateful listen to it in all its ferocity and candor and quiet subtleties.

Once your trauma has re-acclimated to you as well — its birth to peel off from you to protect you and bleed off overload in the system and become a disconnected Part and be buried deep inside may Be the last time it saw you — get re-acquainted, and do so allowing the Part to lead. Don’t poison it with any words or expectations or presumptive putting words in its mouth. Allow it to speak, and do so on its own time rather than yours. The 1st session with a Part may simply be an awareness of one another session. Each encounter is different. It may leave and come back to check in later. Minutes. Days. Years. Simply reserve a place At your table for it when it presents each time.

Amending The Soil

It feels like fingers in black earth while amending the soil in the garden. If, just for a moment, I honor myself enough to be silent and still, not frozen, not in shock, silent and still, when I feel into the intense experience after I have washed up on the shore on the other side after the storm I’ve experienced has broken, I can feel-discern with a fresh clarity of vision in a new perspective framed by the experience before it evaporates. And, it informs me. It gifts me the message of my experience while it’s still fresh, instead of disappearing inside to become a trigger where the trauma is always kept fresh.

Reflections (c) 2009 Jordan Hoggard

Still near it, fresh and wet behind the ears from my birth from The experience, before it’s truly past trauma, still focused by it and immersed in it rather than by me, a bit still hanging toes in the unconscious semi-liminal, it or I may gift myself a message from the experience before I fully step back over the trauma prison of Inner Beyond to here. Psychologists have plenty of titles for this. That’s cool. Creativity is not a diagnosis or a malady or a disorder. The only titles that matter to me are Tarot Reader and Author, Astrology Reader and Author (by Blog), Artist, Poet, Writer, Alchemist, Architect, someone who is Alive. Bold. Courageous. Caring. Empathic without being mushy… unless of course we have our toes in the mud… to grow a Lotus from the mud in joyous and as-if-without-thought-or will sandbox garden.

Fearlessness doesn’t apply here. I have plenty of fears. I simply don’t let anxiety kidnap them and torture and distort them into making me afraid. Guess that helps get off the mountain when those torrentially experiential storms come in rain-singing, Nature’ll kill ya. Keep breathing, and you’re still alive so you’re still a problem. Keep breathing. Nature’ll kill ya. Nature’ll kill ya. And, Nature will make you stronger when you relive yourself of the excess, when you deadhead the pansies in the Soul Garden so they keep thriving more and more strongly towards perennial naturalization each year.

I’d stay in that place as long as it took, not running for dear life to get as far away as possible, certainly not frozen, quite the contrary. Not fight or flight or freeze. Aware. Still. Focused. Patience is not docile or omissive. Patience is concentrated strength.

I in-dwell in the feelingsense home of the space, of the place, of my recent, intense experience. Sometimes 5 seconds. Sometimes an hour. Sometimes decades cycling around through its paces throughout my psyche. No deadline, no expectation. I simply make serendipitous stumbles in meditative momentS moving forward in a powerful and respectful witness of what just occurred. I don’t waste trouble.

And, I do that until I’ve psychic-gold-panned past the experience’s rough geode exterior to see beyond the rawness in the moment to the refined, potent message. I see into to the colorfully kaleidoscopic, living crystal, juicy gemstone, geode interior. And, the message comes as my head begins nodding. Almost without fail. Almost without fail is an acceptable risk to me.

I’ve had historical friends for as long as I can remember. Sometimes they are spectators, sometimes assistants, sometimes colleagues, and sometimes I’m the spectator when I Engage in process towards the message with something like: What would my friend Fred do?; How would my friend Bill B handle this?; What does CG‘s ‘Red Book’ have to offer?

How Do You Keep It?

Who Are Your Historical Friends?

How Can They Help You Today?

How do I keep it? I keep it with an open palm up to the sky where it would nestle in my hand. No closing my hand and holding tight white knuckling to possess it. That suffocates things. Embrace it. Embrace the person or thing as a talisman, a talisman of THEMself on their terms. No need to digress into Psychological Projection or Projective Identity. Those two are the horseshit born of not owning your own stuff.

How do I embrace and meet up with inner, geode messages?

Open handed, reciprocal figure to ground touch, the Both/And touch of the Yin-Yang, the apogee master violin bow single-stroke bindus connecting inhale and exhale, forming breath as prayer. That’s how I embrace and meet up with these inner, geode messages.

Adversity doesn’t build character. It reveals it. ~ James Lane Allen

Be there. Be present. The present is perpetual.

Boundaries that create separation simply induce self-imposed anxiety. Boundaries that establish identity and distinctions can dance and immerse in one another without dissolution. I love swimming. I love swimming immersed with another and their uncut intensities even more. Fun stuff.

Then, if you‘re still alive, keep it.

And, saturation needn’t be drowning in the distress of a situation. Like a high performance, high speed, X-rated radial tire — rated for speeds over 134 mph, it’s on you to take responsibility for how far you take it above that… they’re not concerned about a court case at that level above 200 mph as that’s on you top make sure — you and your tires are filled up to 33 psi for stability, and maybe dropped to 32psi for added grip in the turns in the cold? Yes. Vrooom, shift n corner, baby! Shift n corner TOGETHER!

Message Gifts Kept

From your experiences, what gems of messages have you mined to keep?

They are yours, I respect that, and ask that you do as well. No need to comment them here. Please comment only IFF if and only if you care to and are full-on comfortable to share them. Otherwise, they are yours to tune your Soul’s liquid silence with the resonant chords of you and nurture the healthy boundaries of the Royal Castle Around You forming you as Presence As Architecture, or whatever you decide you do with… (Hey presumption, get the effa outa here and know when to shut dafuq up)

May I suggest that Your Presence Is Architecture, Presence As Architecture. Keep it. Upkeep it. Nourish its powerful limits and boundaries. Fly as high as your roots go deep. Swim as deep And infinitely as your dreams expand within.

How do you dead-head the pansies of trauma to nourish yourself by respectfully integrating them?

Experience

What Have You Mined, and Kept?

Thanks for You, as only you can be, visiting here today in the perpetual present.

Moira’s Blessings,
Jordan

Note; Moira is an asteroid in Astrology that rules the internal sense of time and timing. Call her your intuitive clock if you will. She is Chronos’ (Saturn/Kronos) Wife. Chiron is Chronos’ son. I’m not sure if Moira is Mom or StepMom. Mythical characters have gossip column gigs like that down pat, in spades.

Thank You Tuesday

Thank You Tuesday

THANK YOU to every single person who has read, liked, commented, not liked though read anyway, didn’t know anything about though took a dip anyway for serendipity and found something, liked just to themselves without commenting or liking and left with something valued, even if just the smile or a nod.

Thank you all who have given my work a shout-out via words or a link on their sites. I personally like links more unless it’s a feature, keeps it more ad-free cleanly, and makes more of a community connective tissue. Thank you to all of you who have shared my blog on Facebook and other sites.

After I returned from my extended radio silence, I have seen my readers grow from 140+ to just over 200 in the last 10 weeks. I was in a Great mood when I returned, refreshed, though I smile at how many times I smile and get to say Thank You out loud when I see someone enjoyed my work, that they received something for their time. That makes me proud, and not the hubris kind of proud. That makes me proud in the “I Cherish” kind of proud. Thank you.

Thank you to all of you wonderful people who have read, share, and continue to read my blog. Also, thank you for inspiring me to write this. I may just make this the 1st part of a weekly series to mention those who influenced me or who I just resonated with. The intent will be to give people some serendipity eField Trip selections to choose from. A bit like Marco Polo returning with a full hull, a bit like a travel agent. Heck, it might even step up my serendipity forays, and I’m certainly game for that. Maybe I’ll call it Tuesday Thank You Trips. Hmmm, we’ll see. Titles are tricky sometimes, I’ll let it gestate until closer to next Tuesday.

Thank you to all of you wonderful people out there who participate in my work in whatever way you do, every single one of you! Whether you’re vocal or silent, active, or more Of a spectator. I appreciate your presence here. They say it takes a village. I say sure, a community of people all accepted for who they are without reason or explanation or apology. If anyone here ever feels uncomfortable, please speak up. Sometimes that indicates growing pains… for you, me, or both. Like a good stretch that breaks down some connective tissue a bit to regrow it stronger over the next several days.

Thank you all for being here. I appreciate you for that.

Moira’s Blessings,
Jordan

The Fedora

The Fedora

I remember standing in front of my Grandfather’s casket at the funeral home completely perplexed as to why I wasn’t crying. My Stepmom, Lynn, observantly noticed my furrowed brow and the confusion in my eyes as I looked at him. She put her hand on my shoulder, and,”Jordan, you appear confused. Care to share?” I nodded, never taking my gaze off of him, and, “That’s not him. He was full of life. He was a best friend to me. Why aren’t I crying. It feels disrespectful.”

She nodded and quietly leaned in a little. “Jordan, it’s ok. Everyone grieves differently, and often, everyone grieves differently each time. Reason can be unreasonable here. Keep doing what you’re doing right now. It’s palpable. I can feel it.”

I cherish that moment, have carried the treasure of that perspective with me since. It firmly felt to be Acceptance with the quaternity of the other 4 grief stages as its heartbeat. Then to now, that moment is still the same, frozen in time, like trauma is always fresh. Though, this trauma, this influence, was treasure.

That afternoon, back at their home, my Grandmother took my hand and led me into their closet. Once in, she actually pennied the door shut or some such, basically locking me in. “I’m not letting you out until you steep in there a bit. I know how much you loved him. I know how much he loved you. We were married for 66 years when he went. I’m not letting you out of there until you steep in that feeling you’re having. It’s strong. And, I’m not letting you out until you find that one thing of his you feel to keep with you. You find that keepsake, Jordy, and I’ll set you free, but not a moment before, not up for discussion. Go on. Find it. Find what you need.”

I was in there a while. And, then I saw it. His brown and green tweed fedora from his 1st trip to New York in 1927. I’d always thought it was so dapper and dandy and all those great words from the 20s, and I was in my Roaring 20s. For the first time, I noticed his initials inside. ERH. I had never seen them before in the hat as it was always on his head, or flipped off and plop-dropped on the hat hook inside their front door.

I smiled.

Plopped it on just so like he did with a little flourish on the brim.

Knocked on the wood door of my prison bars from the inside, rattled my own cage.

“Ok, Nanny.”

“No foolin’ around here, Jordy. I mean it now.”

“Nanny. Ok. I’m ready.”

She opened the door, emancipated me with my new-to-me fedora.

She had never left. Sat on the side of the bed the whole time listening, listening in powerful, unseen witness vigil. Thank you, Nanny.

Such support.

Such support.

Thank you Nanny & Earl, and Lynn.

Like My Grandmother Used to Say

If you don’t have anything good to say about someone, keep quiet. Unless, of course, it’s hilarious. Then, by all means, let ‘er rip!

Well, the time came from an experience yesterday, and now today, to apply my Grandmother’s rockin’ wisdom directly. I visited a Philosophy site yesterday to read an Art & Intention post. And, contrary to popular belief, WHOA, God’s last name actually might BE dammit. Who fucking knew? I, for one, was surprised.

I had commented on the post, and OOPS MY BAD, liked and commented on a commenters’s comment…

Comment here:

Neil Rickert

Art is far removed from my expertise. So take this as just a casual comment.

I have tended to think of art as presenting a challenge to perception. If we want to connect art with intention, then it would seem to me that the intention of the perceiver is more important than the intention of the artist.

I full-on agree, Neil. Once the artist lets their work loose, their perspective and intent is null. it is, then, far more important the way the work comes across, and that falls into the domain of the perceiver as you indicate.

Which, by the way, the commenter himself and someone else liked — note the 2 likes for evidentiary purposes. Pardon, I have my Defense Attorney hat on for the Asshat of Daniel Kaufman, the moderator of the blog. Cool title, though the coolness stops there, as… THIS gem then appeared from the Blog Dictator. The 1st syllable of Dictator fits. Effin Richard Cranium fo’ sho’.

Given your attitude — and excessive familiarity with people whom you don’t know — I have decided to not respond further. Carter has written a terrific essay, and I’m looking forward to seeing what others have to say about it.

Seriously? Excessive familiarity with people whom I don’t know… and, that person who I am being excessively familiar with that I don’t know Liked the comment + someone else as well.  WOW, I didn’t know I groped one of his his readers. Maybe I should be more self-aware and respectful of others in the future? LOL. Guess that’s his job. I smile that the commenter like my comment + another as well. I clicked Unfollow before the bindu of that same breath apogeed No time needed for that decision. More like the decision-action DUCK!

I guess that the Old Guard of The Hierophant on a bad day, the stubborn, unbending Traditionalist of the angry, old, undersexed, Patriarchal white man has NOT in fact died out. It is a living, breathing STUFFY thing to this day. That’s too bad.

CacaRoaches just won’t go away, huh? I do hope my Grandmother approves of this use of her wisdom. I will send a celestial groove cosmic request to Moira and Pallas-Athena to pay him a visit and play some chess to his checkers. He just feels like a low-grade, unevolved Mars. Read in: petty, tantrum-throwing toddler of a boy SOOOO needy immersed in hi Pouting Temple, aka Ivory Tower. I graduate-emancipated from that hole decades ago. Actually, 2nd semester Freshman year In college when I was invited into a graduate level Philosophy class. I remember it well. PHIL5364 – The Image and Reality of Man and the Machine in Modern Literature taught by Joe Ransdell, Chair of the Philo Dept. It was a stunningly wonderful semester in that class. I, a Frosh, Architecture student. The other 11, graduate Philo, Math, Linguistic, and Physics students. I remember my 30-page paper well. Change the Program, Change the Outcome: Change the Inner, Change the Outer, based, founded in, the movie Altered States.

This blog Post to an extent is certainly a bit snarky, though sometimes a quick without-a-warning broken nose is better than Just shying away. There are consequences to how something comes across. And, there you go. This blog post is more a consequence than a creation. I’ll have to ask myself tomorrow whether it is reactionary or responsive. It’ll just have to sit wise in its own time for now.

You see, my Philosophy, and I enforce it — 1st time in a long time, though — my Philosophy is, Be peaceful, but let Motherfuckers know. It’s pretty simple really. Everybody’s good at something. And, when that someone is just really good at being a dick, then they are. That’s on them that their actions.efforts/words caused consequences. Seems to me people who adult, and most kids for that matter, understand that if you touch the hot stove, effin OUCH. Yup, I suggest people who are dicks vet their environment more thoroughly, turn up their radar. It’s on them when they overstep. I’m certainly not Wiley Coyote if I step over the edge, don;t get to float there until I realize OH SHIT before gravity unpauses.

Either way, As Above, So Below. So, I place these card images as a Blog Talisman to protect my work below from the above. It’s not superstitious if it works. And, if nothing happens, who’s to say?  Hmmmm… looking back, I should’ve seen the snake in the grass at WHOM.

Oh well, OFL. Opportunity For Learning.

Sometimes, it takes a little controversy. I’m good with that.

My (Stolen) BITCh Method for Creativity

When you don’t follow your nature there is a hole in the universe where you were supposed to be.” ~ Dane Rudhyar, Astrologer

The greatest fear should not be failure… but succeeding in things that don’t really matter. ~ Francis Chan

Good poets borrow, Great poets steal.  ~ T.S. Eliot. Meaning, be influenced, though make it your own.

My BITCh Method for Creativity

Yup, want a runner’s high? Well, no free runner’s high on the couch, unless you’re working there. No runner’s high until mile 22 or so. The couch doesn’t have miles, only time. I find quote-unquote inspiration comes from the energy of working, focusing, unfocusing, simply comeS from the process, from continually shifting focus and redirecting scale across the whole scope of spectrums and dimensions of what you are creating, towards the making.

From my perspective inspiration lives in the interstices, the psychic synapses, the sacred and infinite inner spaces between. Interstices are like invisible or negative space stairs. They take you places, from one, to the other. They are always intensely Beyond in their Void quality, though at the same time intensely invisible Janus To:From::From:To, the caryatid columns being the space on either side of the synapse. The one side from where you Fool Stepped launched — May the ground rise up to support your every step ~ Irish Proverb. — especially resonant when there was no ground there when you began to step. And, the other side where you land your creation, made, having given form to the formless, a very High Priestess thing to do.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

It’s like, Hey, when in Rome, and all roads lead there in the imagination, The Place of Creation. I don’t see much of anyone having inspiration from doing nothing about it. Hey, inspiration Comes when you’re in process, not typically before you start the process. It can, though I don’t recommend to sit around and smoke the hope narcotic of that happening. If that’s the case might as well choose the odds of the lottery or the lightning strike instead.

Inspiration’s also a bit-over-rated to me, as is intention. Both important, don’t get me wrong, though both simply exquisite parts of the process when they occur. I find inspiration more so to be microscopic stardust inherent and naturally present in ideas, flecks of gold you pan out.

Intention is over-rated. It is simply far more important the way something comes across. ~ Jordan Hoggard, (c) 1992

Inspiration of course MAY arrive in in-between times as well as the aHA you amplify with as you plug back into the work. Though, I find that spontaneity to arise FROM the momentum of the movement of the work in progress, from the process itself, rather than occurring spontaneously from sitting around smoking hope so to speak, lazy-ing in wait for it. Then again, maybe I’m just allergic to boredom, and you may be tons more patient than me.

Simple simple of it? It’s not, get off your butt. It’s, put your Butt In The Chair.  BITCh. Butt In The Chair. Put your Butt In The Chair, and create.

I don’t find it be an addiction or some kind of OCD gig. It does, though, stem from discipline, a practiced discipline of the habitual ritual over time. Maybe OCR instead of OCD? Not Optical Character Recognotion. Obsessive Compulsive Resonance. I have a process. It’s taken my whole life up to now to develop, has been this way for coming on 30 years, though ask me again tomorrow as well. I keep it fresh. Sometimes, I take sharp turns, or sidestep the clutch at 4,500 rpm, or make shit up like this painting. It’s not a real Asian calligraphy character. I made it up with a hand-dance after a series in oils called Notes From A Illiterate Thief, where I hand-danced whole scrolls, all made up. Could be gibberish. Could be evocative..

036 CtC copy

For me, allergic to boredom, I set limits so I am OFF from my work so I don’t have to experience depletion from the misspent efforts of working too long, from pushing past expanding myself into the realm of the points of diminishing returns. I’ve trained myself to notice when that occurs. And, stop. Switch gears. Take a walk, or do something else. Same bat time, same bat channel, 5 days a week. Sometimes 4. Sometimes 6 days. Though, NEVER 7.

Depletion doesn’t play nice in the sandbox, just keeps you underpressurized like a low tire. Keeps too much resistance in the system requiring more effort than necessary.

For your most complex problems, assemble a team of your laziest people. They’ll solve it in the simplest way.  ~ Bill Gates

And, I find that depletion comes from mis-spent efforts. I make no nod there that anyone should chastise themself for going down dead end paths. It’s about experience. And heck, there are no mistakes, only OFLs. Opportunities For Learning. Sometimes those so-called dead end paths gave you a healthy rest from your primary one(s).

Ever notice when something tends to move too easily? Not like it is in fluid fluency Kind of easy. Like, it’s light, like a snake skin shedded, chaff? Ever notice when something moves with no resistance, and it’s just giggin’ in the fluid fluency of being in balance and harmony with the process? Ever noticed yourself feel the same in your process? And, of course everything in moderation, including moderation. Sometimes going for long long periods immersed in the work is that path to the mile 22 runner’s high of creative process in action. Sometimes, taking radio silence time is just as important.

Mystereum Card Back

(c) 2010 Jordan Hoggard

To prepare to create Tarot in the Land of Mystereum, I took 3 whole years off from anything Tarot. Not a word. Not a card. By 18 months, not even a thought. It was a time of brain washing, and gardening. Lots of gardening. So, when I popped back up, I intensely created and made Tarot from MY perspective, for 2+ MORE years, completing the Mystereum Tarot from Spring of 2006 to the Solstice in 2008. Tarot in the Land of Mystereum middle of 2009-2010. Time doesn’t really matter in creativity, though. They each took my whole lifetime up to that point.

I call my process the BITCh Method. Butt In The Chair. Same bat time, same bat channel. And, you train yourself. You train yourself to firm up your creativity and imagination to not always be that messy vagueness of epiphany and waiting for inspiration. And, don’t get me wrong. I LOVE epiphanies, and the oftentimes consequent mess they inject into the process that bleeds in new ground and exploration and discovery. Those are good problems to have. Though, you train yourself to basically have an on/off switch, so you can also have a work-life balance. Everything is experience, though everything needn’t be creative work. THere’s value in surrender as well.

The (Stolen) BITCh Method of Creating

Butt. In. The. Chair. Same bat time, same bat channel, and 2 days off of your choosing so you slide your weekend into your Outlook or calendar wherever it works best for you and your process.

That’s It. Butt. In. The. Chair. Same bat time, same bat channel 4 or 5 days a week, and don’t forget the 2 days off. Rest and refresh doing other things. Even walking down a French street, the wide open plaza provides rest and relief from the tight and windy cobbled streets, the tight and windy cobbled streets provide rest and relief from the vast urban plaza. I feel the same bindu breath master violin stroke applies to creativity as well.

Is your work process more like the tight and windy cobbled street, the urban plaza, a field of Calla Lilies or lavender, a cabin in the woods, a racetrack with warmed up tires sidestepping the clutch to shift and corner?

You can see the work of the amazing painter I stole the BITCh method from here on Bonnie Hubly’s Pinterest site. She knows I did. Thanks Mom!!

What method do you utilize

to reverently respect the value of your work

in how you make it?

What cornerstone do you have in your life that you brace against to enhance, reinforce, and strengthen your creativity and imagination?

Creativity As Religion or Profession?

Creativity and/or Imagination

Religion and/or Profession?

Place of Creation and/or Soul Garden?

Aren’t They All Both/And?

Yup. Amen. Punching those damn keys is both religion and profession. Every stroke a step up the temple steps. Every stroke both expresses perspective and gives us perspective. Every stroke potentially causes us to fall and skin our knees, potentially becomes our ally. Though, every stroke, every stroke touches that place deep inside us which does not need to be touched, only needs to be expressed.

Yes, creating and painting and writing are both religion and profession, that thing that activates the I must, of implementing heartfelt passion. Especially maybe even when it goes in the trash bin, like chaff, blown off in the wind, from wheat. We are both our own Soul Garden and Soul Gardener.

Natalie Goldberg expressed, Writing Down the Bones. I say, amend/amen your soil. Bless it with your work and fresh nutrients. 1st year roots. 2nd year foliage. 3rd year flowers and fruit. Be your own Soul Gardener in The Place of Creation. The “year” in creativity is only your particular cycle in each iteration. It sometimes doesn’t take that long, sometimes take much longer. Could be seconds. Could be gestation across decades. That’s why I find it important to keep working. Why wait for a 17-year cicada cycle? You’d be creatively stale by then if you didn’t get off your butt and do something by then. Though, IT certainly won’t be when it wakes up. Keep working. Be strong enough to handle your own creations when you and they are both in the mood.

Naturalize your perennial talents by developing your abilities? Well, yes. That’s just good sense, and that’s also simply gardening. Don’t tell your dahlias to hurry. If they valued writing and could speak, they might just laugh at you if you did. A garden laughing at you would not be such a good thing, unless you get that the joke’s on you.

Your dahlias won’t laugh, though, when you punch the damn keys. Then you can afford to water them, to tend them, to amend the soil and leave them the f*ck alone to wonderfully do their thing. Your creations in the garden of The Place of Creation know that’s the same thing as their underground, finger-tendril, groundgrabbers of their roots that nourish them.

And, religion or profession? Hmmm. What about belief? Hmmm. I don’t believe in Tarot or Astrology. And, I also don’t believe in my Kitchen range, though I use it to cook relatively often.

How do you cook with your creativity, your religion, your profession?

How does your work and what you do nourish you and amend your soil?

Blog By Comment

A Theme in the Air

Tonight, moving through blogs I’ve subscribed to, I noticed a theme of my comments. Not just because of my tenor, and that the comments were consistent because they were mine. There felt to be a response theme flowing in the air. I felt it would be cool if they all were in one space, so here they are in one space as Blog By Comment. Let’s see if they stick out like they are out of context when I only post my comment portion of it, or If they compose a thought or an idea… or further, a theme.

Serendipitous Blog Field Trip Itinerary

It’s not meant to be a popularity contest. Some blogs move me, and I don’t comment for one reason or another. And, some blogs move me to comment and dive into the post. So in the vein of the thematic gig above, and feeling it would be cool to have the larger conversation with all of them in the same space, I’ll link the blogs here as well after my comment on them.

Maybe you’ll find someone new to resonate with, something or someone new that interests you, and/or provide a serendipitous blog field trip itinerary further beyond these. Let’s see what happens. It may be a crack idea. Then, as Mark Twain expressed, New ideas are always crack ideas, until they catch on. Not catching on is not a concern of mine. At all.

While I’m at it, I’ll put a Tarot card or other image between each one. They may not provide seamless segues, though at least they’ll provide points of interest or lookouts along the way. If you like ‘em, pull over and experience them for a while. If not, just keep on keepin’ on drivin’.

Why move to A different room? Yup, I get it. One night not grow as much when they are in a pond that reveres them. Though, is talent is innate? Is ability simply the talents that you have developed?

How can you actionably use your, either talent or abilities developed from them, rather than just talking about it? Hey, ya talk a good game. But Can. You. Box>?

Is it time to sidestep the clutch at 4,500 rpm with your abilities, and go for it?

I’m 52. That continual fluid fluency of shift never stops in the creative process. One’s life is certainly not over at 20 or 30 or 40 or… You don’t have to reach your potential before x y or z age. We do it when we do. You reach your potential when you do. And, I gather we each go further from there!

Your response to it? Well, that’s yours. You can bitch about it, and sometimes that’s important, though when you do, that’s on you rather than the process. May I suggest to have faith, though don’t smoke hope. It’s about the process.

What’s yours, now? What’s your actionable process?

What’s your’s, now!

Faith is a good thing to have, so long as one doesn’t sit around smoking the narcotic of hope, so long as on that topic again, trusting in the process, it takes actions based on that to have heart in what you produce.

Those kinds of actions, though thoughtful and congruent with his thinking, also indicated he simply had a different level of acceptable risk that got him killed. It certainly doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Heck, Christopher Marlowe died soon after he swung a knife like a punch at someone in a pub, missed, and his arm came all the way back around and he stabbed himself in the head. One can bring all kinds of examples to bear, though rather it being the thought or intent that counts, it’s much more important (at least to me) how the idea comes across.

By smoking the narcotic of hope, I intended that it meant someone not just sitting on their bum getting their senses dulled by fantasyland, and instead energized and actionably doing something with their invigorated dreamland. ~ Gottfried – Banter Republic

Is it perception of not inspecting expectations and not getting what we want that makes us unhappy, or true and full bad-ass wrong situations? Either way, is perception the issue? Isn’t it our responsibility to have what we want, and if not, to adjust to have what we want? Blisscipline, anyone?!

Yes, definitely, and as well I don’t believe in control. I don’t feel anyone can control anything. It’s all Nature. One can be in control of themselves, they can guide themselves, navigate, drive life, take aim and build momentum with or to something, though I feel it’s all about experience, and what we make of it.

[Cool 28 second prologue video] (Liked only currently, Comment awaiting moderation. Happens. Great lesson to teach people AWAY from a false sense of urgency. Comment moderation. I haven’t implemented that. Maybe I will if it becomes a thing if I get too many of THOSE types of  YouTubers who wander in with their vitriol. You know the ones. Not all, certainly, though DOOD does YouTube commenters who were just born with a Pre-Approved Darwin Award Application?

(Comment awaiting moderation. Copied this one just after sending just in case) I’ll take the 3rd option, the slippery slope up the muddle between the escalators, and get some extra exercise with a good run when I have slip security up top and gear in to leave them in the dust.

“Are you going to wait for things to get better, or are you going to hustle to make them better.” I have two allergies: boredom; starvation. I’m going to enhance, reinforce, and strengthen amending the soil in my creative garden, and NEVER EVER nada at all going to use “to maintain” in my priorities and mini-policies of infinitive statements. Use maintain, and many occurrences with take your gigs South of zero.

Then, with the reinforced, enhanced, and strengthened intact, I’ll “hustle” at whatever pace is effective in the situation to make things happen. Again, I don’t believe in control, it’s all just Nature and experiences And Powerful Witness. I do have a driver’s license though, so I will actively drive and navigate with actions to get things done. ~ Cristian Mihai

Yes, definitely on, “YOU are in control of your own success and happiness.” It’s bit of semantics on my part — which I call ‘some antics’ — though, I don’t believe in control. I don’t feel anyone can control anything. It’s all Nature. One can be in control of themselves, guide themselves, navigate, drive life, take aim and build momentum with or to something. Though, I feel it’s all about experience, and what we make of it. Intention is great, though can be over-rated in the context of how something comes across being more important (to me). And, mistakes are OFLs, Opportunities For Learning.

Intention is over-rated. It’s simply more important the way something presents itself and comes across.

I have the reverse of the “i can’t get out of bed issue.” I’m allergic to boredom, so one of my tools is to mind myself tp keep aware of when I need to rest or hang something up for the time being. ~thedihedral

COOL.E.O! Zero comments!

9 solid Likes, though, and I guess people are out there not wasting trouble and getting stuff done using your prompt! That’s a great “9-zero,” as maybe those 9 (+3) are zero-ing in. There could be the other hand to the stat, though I won’t go there — not-things are best left in their not-land. Solid OFL For me either way — Opportunity For Learning. Good to know 9+3 are out there not wasting their trouble. Hopefully, they’re juicing up and fueling with it, and capitalizing on it, too.

Alternately, people may have set it up to steep on their own time with zero need for any false sense of urgency, as it’s THEIR time, ON their time. Thanks for posting this, Holly. 🙂

Soul-Seat Silverback Heartfelt Hierophant Seating Self

Stone By Stone A Pyramid of Self Is Built

Epochal Cairns for Paths Are Set

UPDATE 061220:

I Dedicate this Blog Post to Dr. Martin Luther King, assassinated 52 years ago on April 5th, 1967.

May his memory and energy and work and wisdom be blessings and inspirations to enhance and reinforce and strengthen inroads within each of us to strengthen the fabric of our human community, together.

Milestone Cairn Time of Life

And, A Step Was Taken

When simply commenting on another’s blog…

(Formatting a bit unjuiced from copy and paste. And, Autocorrect often writes thing fo me that I didn’t Nintendo. No apologies for that. Proof-reading goes to far places to be clear, and then AutoCorrect can be a bully to fluidly writing. 🙂 )

Krigsgaldr. Rather than war and violence, I felt the Powerful ritual and process over ages of shamanic dismemberment finding Self. Regardless of the words I embrace and resonate with to put to it, the visual story may very well come across to everyone in an ‘all similar, each unique’ way as much as we are All different, like everyone else. Powerful. An epic movie short.

Holly Troy

“the shamanic dismemberment finding Self” – I feel like so many of us are going through this right now. Or we can allow this global strange time to be this, the rite of passage to the Self.

“the shamanic dismemberment finding Self” – I feel like so many of us are going through this right now. Or we can allow this global strange time to be this, the rite of passage to the Self.

the theme continues . . .

Jordan Hoggard

Yes, and not to be smug or condescending in any way, though what I most enjoy In this time about that, is that that rite of passage to the Self, the child becoming the parent of the Man, The Temple In (Wo)Man and Temple Of (Wo)Man occurred for me in 1991 during my architectural thesis in a psychospiritual set of experiences over 3 months brought forth by my thesis itself, a house for me — catalyzed by my whole life up to that point realizing things I had taken responsibility for, though shouldn’t have (parent’s divorce 15 years prior) — and will continue to occur in small and large ways throughout the rest of my life. This time, now, is gifting me a more unfettered sense of clarity in action. Rather than kneeling at the Altar of Self, I am more reverently seeing the world, and ironically enough, notice I don’t cuss so much now.

Jordan Hoggard

Add, Truthfully, I kinda miss the cussing. It’s amazing the molecular things we adapt to that can cause change across the board. The cussing was actually a barb or poison of sorts. It wasn’t seen that way then, though now, there’s a diff tenor to the poetry of it. Adaptation, part of change, part of process, part of slow-form evolution.

Jordan Hoggard

New comment, as in a sense it belays my last…
Something about the living petroglyphs in the Krigsgaldr video, something about your post, something about my comments above now expressed out here, something about the people I’ve interacted with here since I came out of a 5+-year radio silence… expressed and birthed and framed a new perspective for me.

Yes, rite of passage in 1991, very powerfully. And, yes many many crushing and spendorous things between then and now. Though, 5 years ago, out of necessity, I took a J.O.B. As Director of Purchasing & Coordination for a company 5 years ago — the people are great, and it’s a solid 2-way street. I won;t mention the company name, as… ya know… work-life balance. This is my work, and that is also my work. Though, this is in support of what I need in life. And, I started 3+ years of bi-weekly Brainspotting Therapy/Counseling. Someone recently expressed to me, “DAYum. Hard core.” I tend to go all in like that. It’s simply my Nature which I find wonderfully cool and resonant.

2 weeks before the shutdown, I was startled awake be a feeling of celebration. Still very liminal, still very ??? Dafuq???, though it was there. Being awakened to the resonance with a high honor given to me several years before — my deck listed 39 out of 50 Top Most Essential Decks (Of all time) by The Tarosophy Tarot Association. Like to took me that long to own it and just say, “Thank you.” Which, of course I had before, though felt a consummate “Thank you” to myself in that liminal moment.

I sat there in the dark. Steeped in it without words or figuring out what this meant. I only had the feeling of, “don’t pollute this with words. There’s more here than you know.”

And, it came. A creative Ex. Not that I broke up with it, just that in 2012 it was complete, and now suddenly as it came rushing forth to greet me, only semi-complete, it had evolved from its chrysalis to unfurl its wings. 8 years of unconscious gestation? Yup, at least to me. It had been active, though, providing its own formative years to itself. It was the 78 Divination Spreads inspired by my art, though now… Now, it came with the same name alluded to in my Tarot deck and book. ImaginAction.

So, two weeks before the 3/19 – 3/20 shutdown, I turned back to wade into this intense pool of my own creation. And yes, with a bit of trepidation in, “Am I creatively strong enough to not get consumed?, and Fantasia style wand it and conduct it into… hmmm, what am I conducting?, and into what?”

The 11-page Creation story spilled out of me as if I was taking dictation, was a story I’d reverently kept to myself, never spoken of before. The 10-page easy-to-use How-To method just tracked 1 by 1 by 1 start to finish to… enter into several hundred hours of file prep to set up to assemble the pdf for consistency start to finish. I had woken up to start to finish a project not even on my radar until then. Isn’t the not-knowing and going with its serendipity grand?!! And, Voila! There it was. ImaginAction.

Thing is. ImaginAction may be the biggest, most wonderfully robust thing I’ve ever created, though that’s not where I am going here in this comment.

Something about the living petroglyphs in the Krigsgaldr video, something about your post, something about birthing ImaginAction, something about my comments above now expressed out here, something about interacting with people who currently inspire me beyond my historical friends (My Friend Fred for example) and something about a shift that just occurred now, and was seemingly always occurring throughout the past milestone cairn that was building itself over the last 8 weeks… expressed and birthed and framed a new perspective for me.

That perspective. I haven’t had fear and anxiety about this pandemic. At all. In fact, I;ve come into joy and excitement, and not the Freudian minor hysteria type. I even felt a bit ashamed and tentative at one point that I shouldn’t express what I felt as it might seem to demean the vast and real feelings of fear and grief others were legitimately and strugglingly going through. Though, that wasn’t what I was going through, and I came to terms with the experiential fact that these things aren’t relative. Each of us grieves differently, and each of us grieves differently each time. And, I should in no way apologize for feeling that something clicked, and I resoundingly opened to my way. LOL. I came out so to speak in regards to the gravity of my ideas, even if for none other than myself, to love my work again.

That perspective is that. It is what it is. Sometime around two weeks before this all this shit hit the fan across the human community, I woke up and nestled in to seat in myself and my work again. And, more naturally This time. And, dare I say, though feel it to be so… I may have just seated another natural notch into the Heartfelt Hierophant of my Soul Seat. That sure goes to 11.

Thank you for being part of that. You and Paul and other wonderful people I have interacted with have provided a perspective from you continuing your work through these times, and adapting. That’s part and party to my nestling in to… not a 6-speed turbo convertible This time, or my current car, which LOL needs brakes… nestling in to seat in myself, soulfully, and actively through my creative works.

Thank you Holly & Paul. Thank you for being part of stacking the stones of this milestone cairn time. And, thank you to you other 6 who plussed my sense of the world being wonderful, especially if you didn’t know you were.

6 Epic Spiral of Giving and Receiving + 1 Shout-outs to… in no order

I place no “What they do” here. I wouldn’t want to pigeon-hole your serendipity. Check them out. Poke around, and look at the breadth they offer. Heck, potatoe chips? More substantial than that, though still can’t have just one. I suggest to explore them. Enjoy the serendipity of what you find…
