Elizabeth Rose Psychic and Tarot.This post with the image of the painting with Echo and Narcissus + Liz’s mention of the Phoenix catalyzed me to forget the story for getting the gift of telling it differently. Visit her site for the Astrology, though don’t be surprised when you receive a larger takeaway than just that. I received a re-telling from myself of a story that brought it into a different light, and may soon apply to modern discussions of Narcissism… as Psychopaths are (most likely) born (and/or experience trauma from Day 1 as their only context?), though what about Sociopaths? Common work in the Psych community often indicates that Sociopaths are made rather than born. From what are they made? Typically, it is my understanding that Sociopaths are made by trauma over decades that goes unresolved, unreleased such that it that lives deep within and in miscellaneous places that often hide in plain sight. Personally, the tell that I notice — and this is anecdotal from multiple experiences rather than from scientific study or professional Psych community papers — the tell I notice is most often a combination of shaming behavior that couples with a more insidious trait. The latter is that when they ask you a question, and you answer from your perspective as we are want to do… as, well… you asked me a question. Then, in the latter tell, they launch into triggered tirades, of, yes, shaming behavior as if their question came from a professional Angler fish that baits people in with questions. The evolution of that, though, comes from an Empathic Silence I began to notice myself experience in this type of interaction. I would notice, and yes it was a bit manipulative and not truth in an air of truthfulness on my part, that if I answered something more from a place of their perspective, all was well. Well, all was not well, as then I was simply playing the marionettes counterpart of their projection, and in some cases actual Projective Identity.
What I came to is this. Rather than judgment, I chose discernment, and again, Empathic listening, carefully and thoughtfully watch the triggered behavior AS it began to unfold. How did it feel to me? Well, it felt like this. It felt that when forces and influences and responses came from outside of them, it was danger they experienced. It made sense. Their intense traumas mostly all came from external forces. People. Experiences. And, when I did what people do under interrogative circumstances, a different way of saying ‘when asked a question,’ and I responded wholeheartedly from my perspective, out came the psyche-knives with ground fire blazing. Vicious is a word, though I have to say. Don’t get me wrong. I found it not only empathic and compassionate to understand that they then operate from a place of pain. I found it simply considerate to respect that that is the case, and to do my part to get that even in their dosed up and potent nightshade belladonna venom and vitriol, they may be the person who needs to be heard the most. And as well, I am not Saint Jordan of Naïveté. Nor, am I a Psych professional. So, there is only so far that can go, unless they are willing to at least attempt to check the ordinance at the door in the understanding that I will view them as shooting blanks in regards to me.
Now, under those circumstances, I find it more compassionate all around when I discern and groc that this is that kind of scenario, to first respond to the question with a clarification question to at least quell the hair trigger sawed off shotgun that is unsnapped and with the safety off that leans in to point in my general direction. How it goes from there? Ask me again tomorrow. I simply offer the above from a laymen’s perspective from someone who has worked openly outside and within his own psyche with the hood open while active in the creative process. So, on to the article, Part 1 of 2. And, as it goes in theatre and fighting, the above warm-up is substantially shorter than the one-act performance below. Echo and Narcissus by John William Waterhouse
J: Excellent image for this post today. Echo hears herself, and that hearing comes from echoes outside in response to her voice from within. Chords are struck to resonate. She begins to connect. Narcissus sees himself, is hypnotized from within, magnetized and pulled inside to orbit only in that world where the external more and more falls away. He gets lost in there, chases false horizons in his unconscious isolation. She gets found. She finds herself connecting. Echo is the potential spark that lights his Phoenix to fire back up within and push his head out of his heart and resurrect out here, most likely with epic experiences from traumas he tilled that then unfold.

I had not thought of it this way before, though the image and your mention of the Phoenix made a perfect catalyst to pair, where the painting began to re-tell the story for me from another perspective… mine now… and, in an informed, intuitive reading format… could be called Beginner’s Mind fueled by a bank of experience… which I could pen as simply expectations inspected and left at the door to evaporate blind spots and see and experience what actually is, right in front of us, for more robust clarity and connections. I received the gift to teach myself a new self-created version of the story of Echo and Narcissus today catalyzed by your post. It brought me to forget the story of Echo and Narcissus as I knew it. It brought me to forget in that way of forgetting is for getting… makes more room for the good stuff. Thank you. Thank me. Thanks much. This feels to apply to the larger sociological and psychological landscape of today. We talk about and hear much about Narcissus and Narcissists and trauma and sociopathy and Psychological Projection and Projective Identity. Though, how many of us do the work to find and develop our Inner Nature as did Echo To connect, with ourselves and others and Nature itself?

The Moon went Direct in Cancer on Monday 12/1 at 10:33p. It passed into a brief dip through its Void of Course Astro Sign Synapse Portal this morning, Friday 12/4, at 5:29, to emerge Direct in Leo at 7:53a today.
The Moon will continue Direct in Leo until tomorrow, 12/5 at 5:28p when it goes VoC and emerge Direct in Virgo Sunday, 12/6, at 2:46p. So, be on your toes and with a strong but fluid stance as there will be a slalom course of sorts with many Moon energies today and through the weekend.
The Moon will travel Direct in Virgo until Tuesday, 12/8, at 5:28p when it enters its VoC again to emerge Direct on Tuesday, 12/8, at 7:01p in Libra. Void again Friday, 12/10, at 7:56p to emerge Direct on 12/10 at 8:50p in Scorpio which will then put us at your next week’s Friday Serendipity Itinerary.
A note on the Coniunctio and Coniunctionis + Some Big-Time Planetary Interests for You to Factor Into Your Travels, Your Actions
Also, of note is that Neptune Stationed Direct on Monday, 11/30. And, Jupiter and Saturn will go Conjunct on 12/21 with Pluto and Pallas~Athena (Minerva) in the conjunction mix. Quite a beautiful Mystereum Coniunctionis grouping for study and to Marshall your forces. Note that to simplify the Latin conjunction or coniunctionis, simply thank and feel into conjunction. Latin simply doesn’t have a j to use for spelling. So, coniunctionis and coniunctio for the most part simply = state of conjunction and/or conjunct. Add the mystery, and therein is provided a simple expression of the Mystery of the Opposites within each of us that function as Self. Albeit, it is a little overgeneralized, though not to the pejorative point of being simplistic.

Void of Course Moon
Void of Course is a bit like a mini-Mercury Rx, though instead of the magnetic drag of Mercury appearing to slow, which advises us to downshift, the opposite happens when the Moon goes Void of Course. Rather than drag, there is a slip, a letting go of the Astro Sign connection to disappear across the synapse of the cusp between signs.
I feel the Void of Course period, the Cusp Crossing makes for a wonderful liminal horizon to surf with a foot on both sides, though I mark it in my schedule to not start new projects during it. When I do, their effectiveness invariably slips away like they didn’t even exist, or they are driving on ice with bald tires.
The Void of Course Moon period carries a sense of float where you may viscerally feel Almost weightless. It’s easy to miss unless you intently feel-listen as it is typically short, several hours to a day. It is as if the impact of projects that start during the Void are all but zeroed out by the MIA Void Moon Lunation Wave Formers.
For all intents and purposes it may feel like a car disengaged by being put in neutral, or when the clutched is step-tapped in and not released. A pause of sorts.
During intense work, creative or otherwise, it may also feel like running up fast in 6th gear only to pass 150mph and discover your car has a US-required speed limiter. The fuel injectors cut out, and the 1st time this happens it felt like OH SHIT, I’m floating barely touching the ground at 150 and only in a 4-cylinder…. HOLY SHIT WTF THIS ISN’T GOOD. A rising sense of terror emerges. You grip the wheel harder. You come off the gas and judiciously start to get into the brakes to lightly step-tap yourself back down until the fuel injectors wake back up. There’s no diving into brakes without the counterbalance of the power that got you there in the Justice of an experience like this.
Yes, there’s a metaphor for life in that. The sudden loss of ALL power at that speed is hellishly un-nerving… and, even more so the 2nd time when you know it’s going to happen. No, 3rd time for me, though. My stubbornness has its own set of powerful limits, its own place of Void of Course. Baseball came to mind, and I decided I would rather make my presentation in Vail than achieve Strike 3 You’re Out. From Denver, it’s typically about 1 1/2 hours to Vail. Suffice it say I had some fun, though within my levels of acceptable risk as I made the trip in 47 minutes. I don’t need or want a repeat performance of that. Though, it sure is a blast to remember. Like any trauma, the feeling re-surfaces fresh and ready to engage. Now, I simply steep a bit with a wry smile and bright eyes as I think, Now, how cool was THAT?!!
Trauma, though directly linked to the time it occurs carries a timeless quality. It tucks away deep inside if not directly addressed wise in time as it occurs. And, when we are triggered, it emerges as fresh as it was when it was born into the psyche. That’s what lives within the phrase, ‘Trauma is always fresh.’ One goal I suggest is to Train yourself to catch the inner flash when trauma is triggered, say ‘Thank you. Hold on a sec,’ as you embrace it within without allowing it to merge with the trigger, whatever triggered it, and as you acclimate proceed back into your conversation. Most often you can revisit it on your own time unless you are with a good friend, at which point I suggest to turn the conversation back in upon the trauma to share it and potentially receive a fresh perspective from them that may help bring it to fully re-surface to empathically listen to towards receiving its message so that it can integrate by re-homing in its proper home in your body. A cascade of ablution Tingles is a common way the integration presents. Note where it went in your body. Smile, and welcome it with thanks. ~ Jordan Hoggard
A more fun And less wordy waffle way to think about Void of Course is to visualize the Moon as it goes Void as those fun and magical, black portal openings in the movie Time Bandits. One minute it’s there and engaged, the next, HEY! Where’d it GO?!! Well, it went somewhere. Reasons are often unreasonable, and a healthy comfortability with the not-knowing allows your surrender to keep the open door welcome on the other side free and clear of obstruction.
During the VoC Moon
I advise to focus on the flow and structure of existing projects you have in the works. We all kind of Evil Knievel float through the air with the Moon temporarily disconnected… though without the experience of all the broken bones when we land on the other side. Inspect your expectations to assure you are not assuming connections that are actually temporarily not in touch with one another in the least.
Once we land on the ramp on the other side of the Astro cusp to emerge in the next Astro sign as the Moon goes Direct… then, refreshed, re-engage the Past-Future-Confluence of the perpetual present anew.
Once Direct we can reconnect our Inner LUNAtic in the next Astro sign and re-engage the creative gearbox. Alternately, if you need something to have the UTMOST discretion or be secret, like planning a surprise Birthday Party, by all means DO start during the Moon’s Void period. It might contribute to the success of the stealth to keep the surprise a surprise. Yes, there are certainly shady ways to apply that, too, though that’s really never been in my Wheelhouse except for in martial arts applications when I explore the power of Silence in motion through whole-body awareness Of the consequence of my feet and toe groundgrabber fingers when I move forward toe-to-heel Instead of the norm of heel to toe when walking or running. In a way the reverse, energetic spin of the motion more clearly generates an awareness of the consequences of actions AS they happen. CRACK goes a twig, and OOPS. Restart.
Take the depth and directness of the clean and stealthy Nothingness of the long Void of Course energy into your weekend. I suggest to team up with surrender rather than hold on. Also, It’s not advised to get caught revving and have the tachometer up to the redline warming things up. You might accidentally sidestep the clutch if your foot slips. Plus, the redline and revving noise just disturbs the Silence, is more than a bit vexatious to the Spirit.
It’s going to be intense, intensely calm. Rather than let down and go amoebic and sloppy in formlessness, there is a lesson in simple Being holding itself together naturally without the crutch of form. Rather than worry or anxiety about falls, instead dial in your focus to your balance of intense things. In one sense it reminds me of the student telling the Buddhist Master they dreamed of falling and falling and getting more and more unsettled. The Master says, Dream that again tonight. This time have a deep knowing that there is no ground. Disengage control. Embrace the experience. Fall farther.
The not-things can get us in trouble all too easily. Personally, I ignore not-things for the most part to more fully focus on the workability so I Don’t waste trouble.

It takes intense heat and pressures to make a diamond. Maybe at the base of infinity within, the heavy darkness get more and more dense, form a weather pattern of singularities that then squeeze density past its Point of Flexure to POOF pop out diamonds that are ejected to the surface.
The flexural strength is stress at failure in bending. It is equal or slightly larger than the failure stress in tension.
During the Void of Course
Focus on established priorities and established launches… even if its simply a walk in the park where you may vividly see and experience something you’ve not seen before. You know? That intensity of ablution tingles when your eyes light up when you discover something that moves you in a cool way.
How can you even up your keel, so that wind the big wind comes you shoot right out in the direction you intended… well, or at least in the range of that direction. There may be some torque that exceeds your grip at first. You;re the driver, though. Dial in to hang in and ride the initial squirrelly movements as your momentum sticks to engage forward movement in big ways.

Alchemical Gold from Transformation. Kintsukuroi of Self. Allow your Inner Splendor to flow up from within and fill breaks and cracks and tectonic fault lines to celebrate your experience rather than make leaded scars from shaming mistakes. Can you call your mistakes OFL? Can you embrace mistakes as your further Opportunities For Learning? I say Don’t waste trouble. Though, Jodorowski amps that up to agency level when his Chariot said, I made a diamond out of my misfortune.
With Mindfulness in troubled times, how do you establish and embrace your established inner light to enhance and align with and in your natural transformation process while you enact a disciplined approach to reverently honor the continual focus of your clarity? Does that question build a sanctuary to enter and explore your sacred Self?
Notice if you begin to feel depletion. If you do, it is often either from mis-spent efforts, slippage, or its time to rest and refuel. Running on fumes will actually expend more energy and tire you out more than running with a full tank.
And maybe think about Mindfulness to help you out. I do not feel that Mindfulness is to empty us out of negative inner influences. More so, that it is for us to face and engage and become besties with our beasties. Danger? Potentially? Sure, sometimes, like life itself. Though, think about it this way. If they harm me, they harm their home. So, I let their storms rage inside when they present themselves. And, as their storm subsides robustly and empathically witnessed by me in reverence Silence, I ask, What is your message?
Once a storm has spent itself, it has often shed itself of all the extraneous marble block parts like Michelangelo liberating David. Then, they can integrate, you might feel a cascade of ablution tingles as they nestle back into wherever their trauma was living in your body as they bring more of You to You with their power as experiential enhancements born of facing your traumas. Or, they don’t integrate, in which case you let them go as if vanished forever, … or, they sidle up right beside you and behind you as another Chthonic Numinosity Light~Shadow Ally of Self. Can’t have too many of those.
Someone asked me recently how long PTSD lasts. A lifetime, was my response. Color that with this. Though it lasts a lifetime, it lasts a lifetime in its influence as you transform it over time from the lead of raw experience to the gold that flows up from within of wisdom magnetized and born of the experience as you process it. From trauma or influence to treasure. After you face your fears and traumas, work with them. With a Professional is good. They can transform to release and renew you. So, the PTSD part doesn’t really last a lifetime. The PTSD is a point of origin. Its ever-evolving influence as you face and engage and use it is actually what lasts a lifetime.
How can you invest in yourself today? How can you invest in yourself this week? What actions will you take as your initial Self-investment? How can you bank the lead to draw interest as it transforms into more Self-born Inner Inheritances?
I’m full-on pleased that my article The Kintsukuroi of Self was published in Issue 35 of The Tarot Association’s Tarosophist International Magazine Equinox Issue. I went searching for WHO IS the person who commands the instrument of THIS VOICE?!! I found the narrator, and I serendipitously found Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. So, today on my birthday 12/4 I am giving myself the gift of steeping in the sandbox of cherished historical friends Of which he is certainly one. Enjoy.
I then began to discover this was simply the tip of many places full of and teaming with life. Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks did not narrate this video, though I found his work searching for who did. Most normal people would have just clicked MORE at the bottom of the video for the answer. Honestly, that didn’t even cross my mind. The power of the voice and visual story inter-weaving gave me the gift of a head turn and a long look into the distance. So, I took a step.
