Tarot. The 8 of Swords Plateau. Where’s Waldo?

13 Apr

Plateau of Communications

The 8 of Swords, air and mind and intellect with Swords, can very much indicate a plateau of communications. This plateau can present false summits and as well can be a place to explore and expand communications like on a mountain park.

Deceptive Simplicity

Is this 8 of Swords simply a geometric composition of Swords with no people to add quality-of-use gestures or personification to the meaning?  How are you with subtlety that is so big and so there you might just miss it?

So Big and So There

Yes, there is certainly a cascading composition of Swords. What else is there?

What Else Is There?

Do you see the Eye in the Sky?  What about the Shadow Hand reaching across the lavender lake across purple mountains majesty and into the stormy sky?   What about the…

8 of Swords and the Shadow Hand

What do you see in this 8 of Swords image?

Personally, I feel there is always at least one person in each of these Tarot cards. You, peering through the architectural portal into a magical world.  Happy Alice-ing!

Imagination Primer Snippet … from the companion book

“… a positive change of mind that manifests towards your troubles.   …We are one of the rest stops for The Fool.  He has brought a great many of his discoveries here.  We have many perspectives that communicate together to be experienced as a single group.  The Fools’ discoveries shed light on and release us from the prison of our expectations.  We like to call ourselves The Little Anti-Tower.  We live to act in the moment here!”

(c) 2010 Jordan Hoggard, excerpted from Tarot in the Land of Mystereum‘s 192-page Imagination Primer companion book included in the deck package.

Do You Ever Take Time…

Do you ever take time to MAKE a plateau for yourself?  Turn off your PDA?  Turn off your phone?  Hear only the sound of your breath softly ripple-waving across an expansive scene like on a plateau?  If so, what insights do you have on the 8 of Swords?  Post them in the comments section.

Thanks for stopping by.  See you in subtlety next time.

The 8 swords put me in mind of a Guard of Honour. The black line that cuts through the clouds echoes back to the messages of 6 of S and 7 of S but also whispers hints forwards to the 9 of S … Similarly with the shadow hand, that takes me back to the 6 and 7…
